Kiwanis Club of Silver Springs Shores

Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world, one child one community at a time. Founded in Detroit, Michigan in 1915, and now headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana. Silver Springs Shores Kiwanis Club was sponsored by the Ocala Club and chartered in December of 1980. The principle core of Kiwanis is the belief that the most effective way to enhance a community is through its children.

We impact the lives of children through K-Kids, and Bring Up Grades, elementary school programs that promote self-esteem, builds character and leadership skills. Kiwanis has programs that serve children at every level of development. Kiwanis sponsors Builders Club in middle school, Key Club programs in high school and Circle-K International at the college level.

Other programs include Young Children Priority One, with the main objective of meeting the needs of infants and children 0-5 years of age. Our college scholarship program is open to local high school students, and we also offer scholarships to Camp Kiwanis, a summer camp program for children 7-13  in Marion County. We believe "One can make a Difference"
